Skip Counting by Two’s | Number & Counting

The concept of skip counting is important to understand the addition and multiplication of numbers. In skip counting we basically count the number by hopping over certain numbers.

Incase of skip counting by 2’s, we basically count numbers by skipping numbers by 2 each time as we move forward.

To understand the above illustration, kindly follow the below steps:

Step A:
Start with number 0

Step B:
Move forward & skip the number by 2
⟹ 0 + 2 = 2
Now we are at number 2 on number line

Step C:
Move Forward by skipping number by 2
⟹ 2 +2 = 4
We are standing at number 4 on number line

Step D:
Repeat Step C again and again
⟹ 4 + 2 = 6
⟹ 6 + 2 = 8
⟹ 8 + 2 = 10

The process continues repeatedly and we will get following numbers
0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 . . . . . .

This can be represented in the form of table:
