In skip counting by 4’s we basically count numbers by skipping number 4 each time we move forward.

Below is the illustration which shows how we will move forward in the number line if we skip counting by four

To understand the above illustration, kindly follow the below steps:

**Step A**:

Start with number 0

**Step B:**

Move forward & skip the number by 4

⟹ 0 + 4 = 4

Now we are at number 4 on number line

**Step C**:

Again Move Forward by skipping number by 4 from current position

⟹ 4 + 4 = 8

We are standing at number 8 on number line

**Step D**:

Repeat Step C again and again

⟹ 8 + 4 = 12

⟹ 12 + 4 = 16

⟹ 16 + 4 = 20

The process continues repeatedly and we will get following numbers**0, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 . . . . .**

I hope you have understood the basic idea of skip counting by 4’s using number line.

For you conceptual understanding, let us understand this topic with the help of chart diagram

Above is the chart of numbers from 1 to 100.

When you start from 0 and skip counting by 4, you will get numbers which are circled by red color

Now we have understood the concept of skip counting by 4. It is now time to solve some questions and test the knowledge we have just learnt.
