Relationship Puzzles
(Q.1) Pointing to a photograph Pradeep said “ she is the mother of my son’s wife’s daughter. How is Pradeep related to lady ?
- Pradeep has a son, placing son below Pradeep
Pradeep’s son has a wife
The wife has her daughter
Now we can see that the daughter’s mother is Pradeep’s daughter-in-law
(Q.2) Introducing a man to her husband a woman said “his brother’s father is the only son of my grand father” how is the woman related to this man ?
Taking man as a starting point.
- Man has his brother, placing brother parallel with him
Man’s brother has a father, placing his father above him
Now the father is a women’s grand father’s only son
Now we can see that the woman is sister of man
(Q.3) Pointing to Pradeep, Namrata said “ he is the son of my father’s only son “ how is only Pradeep’s mother related to Namrata ?
Taking Namrata as a starting point.
Namrata has her father, placing Namrata’s father above her
- Namrata’s father has a only son, placing son parallel to Namrata
Now we can see Namrata is sister of son
Namrata’s father’s son has his son, placing below him
- Now this son has his mother, who is Namrata’s father’s Son’s wife
Now it is clear that Namrata is sister-in-law of son’s wife
(Q.4) if A is the mother of B , C is the son of A , D is the brother of E , E is the daughter of B. who is the grandmother of D ?
Taking B as a starting point.
A is the mother of B, A is female, placing A above B
- C is the son of A, C is male, placing C below A
Now C is brother of B
E is the daughter of B, E is female, placing E Below B
D is the brother of E, D is male, placing D parallel to E
- Now we can see that A is the grandmother of D
(Q.5) B is the mother of D & C is the brother of D. H is the daughter of E. D is the wife of E. What is the relation of E to C ?

(Q.6) M is the son of P , Q is the granddaughter of O who is the husband of P. How is M related to O?

- M is the son of P, M is male, placing M below P .
- O is the husband of P, O is male, P is female, placing O parallel to P .
- Now M is the son of O .
- Q is the granddaughter of O means daughter of M .
(Q.7) X and Y are brothers. R is the father of Y. S is the brother of T and maternal uncle of X . what is the T to R ?
According to question, taking R as starting point.
- R is the father of Y, R is male, placing y below R .
- X and Y are the brothers, X and Y are male, placing X parallel to Y.
- S is the maternal uncle of X means S is the brother of X’s mother.
- T is the sister of S means T is mother of X and Y means T is wife of R.
(Q.8) A is B’s sister. C is B’s mother. D is C’s father. E is D’s mother. Then how is A related to D ?
