(9) To stitch a shirt, 2 m 15 cm cloth is needed. Out of 40 m cloth, how many shirts can be stitched and how much cloth will remain?

Given:
1 Shirt can be stitched with=> 2m 15 cm cloth

we know that,
1 m= 100 cm
1 cm = 1/100 m
1 cm =0.01 m
15 cm = 0.15 m

2m 15cm can also be written as ==> 2.15 meter
Hence 1 shirt get stitched with==> 2.15 m


Solution
We have total of 40 meter cloth
So number of shirt that can be stitched with 40 meter cloth is ==> 40/2.15 ==> 18.6

Hence total of 18 shirts get stitched
