Class 6 Maths- Exercise 4.5 – All Questions

(1) Draw a rough sketch of a quadrilateral PQRS. Draw its diagonals. Name them.
Is the meeting point of the diagonals in the interior or exterior of the quadrilateral?

Sol.
Quadrilateral is a two-dimensional closed figure having four sides. When two vertices are joined with a straight line, it is called diagonal.

In the above figure PQRS is the quadrilateral with its two diagonals PR and QS which meet at point O. This meeting point of the diagonals i.e. point O lies in the interior of the quadrilateral

2. Draw a rough sketch of a quadrilateral KLMN. State,
(a) two pairs of opposite sides,
(b) two pairs of opposite angles,
(c) two pairs of adjacent sides,
(d) two pairs of adjacent angles

a. The two pairs of opposite sides (means which are facing each other) are –
KL and NM
KN and ML

b. The two pairs of opposite angles (means which are facing each other) are –
∠KLM and ∠KNM
∠LKN and ∠LMN

c. The two pairs of adjacent sides (means beside each other) are
KL, KN and NM, ML
KL, LM and NM, NK

d) Two pairs of adjacent angles (means beside each other) are –
∠K, ∠L and ∠M, ∠N
∠K, ∠L and ∠L, ∠M
